Have a dog who loves water, or one who needs some extra encouragement to make a splash? We offer seasonal private swimming lessons at a dock diving facility in Asheville, NC.

We believe water play is engraved in the DNA of most dogs, and once they’re acclimated to swimming, they’ll enjoy a long life of water fun. Plus, water exercise and therapy is a great way to maintain your dog’s healthy weight and movement of important joints that can become stiff and painful as a dog ages.

Our swimming lessons are conducted at a swimming pool designed specifically for dogs with a safe, easy-access entry ramp for learning, and a separate turf covered ramp for dogs who have graduated beyond basic swimming to dock diving.

These lessons are personalized for the swimming level of each individual dog, and even if your dog is uneasy around water, we’re here to gently introduce your dog to the love of swimming.  Our instructor has successfully encouraged and taught hundreds of dogs how to swim and eventually to become advanced dock divers who enter national diving competitions.

Our private lessons are seasonal in Spring, Summer, and early Fall, are approximately 30 minutes long, and are conducted by a Southern Water Dogs team member as well as a specialized swimming and diving instructor. We recommend 4 weekly sessions, or start with just one session and see how your pup likes it!

A single 30 minute swimming lesson is $75 and includes 2 instructors and the pool all to yourself. Once you experience it, we think you’ll feel it’s worth it!
